GUWAHATI, Aug 9 – NF Railway Sports Club posted a 2-1 victory against Gauhati Town Club (GTC) in today’s match of the Abhishek Motors RG Baruah GSA Super Division Football League.In a low paced match at the Nehru Stadium here today all the three goals were scored in the second session.
It was Town goal keeper Subal Rabha who spoilt the match for his team as he conceded both the goals due to lake of proper anticipation.
Bapa Biswas took his team ahead in the 53rd minute with a feeble grounder. He unleashed the shot through the crowded Town defence which beat Subal at the far post.
Town came to the game in the 77th minute when substitute Rakesh Das’ header beat railway custodian N Ingo Singh. The goal was result of a beautiful move initiated by Town midfielder K Kamei who set the ball for Rakesh from left flank.
Finally it was Sibra Narzary who gave NF Railway full points beating Subal again with a soft grounder.
It was Town’s third consecutive defeats while NF Railway recorded their second victory.
A Div: Rajbari Athletic Club and Rising XI played goal less draw in their A Division league match.
