|Governor visits Umananda temple|
GUWAHATI, Aug 6 - Governor Prof Jagdish Mukhi today visited the Umananda temple as it reopened after the floods. The visit was undertaken to take stock of the work done for the upkeep of the temple and its vicinity, especially in the aftermath of the floods.
Prof Mukhi, who visited the temple along with First Lady Prem Mukhi, talked to the temple priests and other persons concerned.
The Governor asked Deputy Commissioner Biswajit Pegu to put in place the best possible amenities for the devotees and transform Umananda into a must-visit place for spiritual and devotional tourism. He also asked the DC to ensure total cleanliness in and around the temple.
