CORRESPONDENT
AGARTALA, April 26 - With an aim to boost bilateral trade along the Indo-Bangladesh border, two more border haats will be set up in Tripura, sources said.

Currently, two border haats are operational at Srinagar (Sabroom) and Kamalasagar (Bishalgarh). The construction of two more border haats will start at Raghna (Dharmanagar) and Maracherra (Kamalpur). Sites have been identified to establish the border haats and the Bangladesh Government has given its nod to the decision. According to sources, the two border haats will be operational any time after July.

The proposal for setting up the two new border haats has been okayed by the Indo-Bangladesh Joint Border Haat Committee, which held a meeting in Sylhet district of Bangladesh on April 24.
