Kidnapped minor rescued

 TURA, April 26 - A seven-year-old Garo girl from Kongkal village in North Garo Hills bordering Assam, was rescued on Thursday from the clutches of a woman who allegedly lured her to Krishnai town in Goalpara district.

Assam Police rescued the girl from Hahim Sukunya village at about 5.30 am yesterday, after she had gone missing on Wednesday.

The minor girl had gone to Krishnai for shopping along with her family when the woman lured her away from her family. When she could not be found, the parents reported the matter to the Krishnai Police Station in Assam.

The police were informed by eyewitnesses that a woman had picked her up and fled. The woman’s son, who was at Krishnai, was picked up for questioning.

Based on inputs provided by him, Assam Police in an early morning raid locates the girl at the address mentioned in Hahim. She was later reunited with her family. The abductor has been arrested.
