AITUC Assam unit to organise May Day
STAFF REPORTER
GUWAHATI, April 26 - The Assam unit of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) will organise May Day with a pledge to continue the fight against oppression.

In a statement, the AITUC said the observations in Assam assume significance in the State’s context because all organisations under the umbrella of AITUC, besides protesting the government’s anti-worker laws, will resolve to protect the sovereignty and constitution of the country.

AITUC Assam unit general secretary Ramen Das said the flag-hoisting ceremony will be organised in all districts by 9 am on that day.

“All trade unions in Guwahati will participate in a rally at Dighalipukhuripar.

Meetings will also be organised at Noonmati Sector 3, Hengerabari, Fatasil Ambari, Fancy Bazar and Betkuchi, etc.,” he added.
