Debanga clinches GTC chess title

 GUWAHATI, April 26 Debanga Kalita of Gurukul Grammer Senior Secondary School clinched the crown in the 4th edition of the Gauhati Town Club (GTC) Chess Grand Prix 2015.

In the day-long championship held at the GTC club house today, altogether 54 players participated. This year the event has been divided in to three category-Under 9, Under 19 and Open.

The tournament was conducted by Nandan Buragohain as the chief arbiter and he was assisted by Padma Gogoi as deputy arbiter.

The chief guest of the closing ceremony was Stalyn Ingti, secretary, Karbi Anglong Chess Association. Binod Khemka, working president and M Arun Singh, secretary, Guwahati Chess Association were also present on the occasion.

U-19: Debanga Kalita, Tridev Buragohain, Shahil Dey, Nitish Das, Manthan Kashyap Datta, Neeraj Pratap Hazarika, Bhabishnu Pranti Bordoloi, Uddipta Kakati, Vishesh Bajaj, Bhuvnesh Dixit.

Best girl: Anoushka Priyam, Rishita Sinha, Jenifa Islam.

U-11: Aryan Dutta, Vedant Chhawchharia, Achitanga Kashyap.

U-13: Arnav Borpujari, Maharanav Deka, Arunabh Gohain.

U-9: Jayaditya Das, Aayush Raj Sharma, Sajal Saroj Lakhar.

Best girl: Reshal Agarwal, Archi Gupta.

U-7: Mrinmoy Rajkhowa, Barneev Deka.
