Newmai News
AIZAWL, April 26 – A total of 366 employees – laboratory attendants and clerks under RMSA and staff of SCERT Guidance and Counselling, whose employment has been terminated since this month due to non-approval from higher authority, are planning to go fasting from April 28 next demanding reemployment. They decided to hold the hunger strike, sources said.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla said, “There is no possibility on the part of the Mizoram government to continue hiring them as of now.”

RMSA Lab attendants and clerks had for three-days gathered at High School field, and on last Friday too gathered again at Mizo High School field. They carried placards and shouted slogans showing their grievances for the termination of their employment and appeal for reemployment.

While the 366 employees are fervently appealing the government for their reemployment, Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla in his speech at Congress Bhavana said that the RMSA employees terminated in recent time is not done by the Mizoram government.

“We deeply sympathise with them. Yet there is nothing we can do as of now”, the Chief Minister said.
