GUWAHATI, April 25 – A technical event titled ‘Aarohan-2015,’ organised by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), began at Scholar’s Institute of Technology & Management today. This is an initiative to bring together the ideas of talented technocrats of the State into the limelight, stated a press release.
The aim is to provide a new platform for technical students to showcase their creativity, display original ideas and skills, provide a podium for interaction of technical students with industry experts and society, promote young technocrats to follow their passions, and create ground for demonstration of entrepreneurship skills.
The inaugural function was inaugurated by Sunil Ambedkar, national organising secretary, ABVP. Dr Omkar Rai, Director General of Software Technology Parks of India, was the chief guest.
In the closing ceremony tomorrow, Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of DoNER, Government of India, will be present as the chief guest and Shreehari Borikar, national general secretary, ABVP, will be the main speaker.

Today, a State-level project exhibition and competition for engineering students was held from 10.30 am.
