SILCHAR, April 24 - Repolling across four polling stations in Karimganj (SC) Lok Sabha constituency held on Wednesday registered approximately 67.25 percent turnout of voters, as per ECI sources.

The polling stations where repolling was conducted on Wednesday from 7 am till 5 pm were polling station number 105 at Batoiya LP School, polling station number 134 at Gandharvakhani LP School and polling station numbers 152 and 153 at Atanagar LP School.

It may be recalled that constituency had recorded 73.15 per cent vote casting on April 18. However, repolling in the four designated polling stations, had to be ordered based on the reports of malpractices and breach of rules as found by the Election Observers.

“Repolling across all the four polling stations ended peacefully amidst tight security arrangements. Also, drones were used for surveillance across the polling stations,” Karimganj Deputy Commissioner cum Returning Officer MS Manivannan told The Assam Tribune.
