Madhya Dakshini Festival from today

 GUWAHATI, April 24 - The South Central Zone Cultural Centre (SCZCC) under the Union Ministry of Culture, is organising Madhya Dakshini Festival 2019 in collaboration with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) from April 25 to 28 in four venues of Guwahati.

During the festival, around 100 folk artistes from central India, from the states of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh will perform vibrant and colourful folk dances showing the rich cultural heritage of India.

The folk artistes from these states will perform Songi Mukhate Nritya, Bhagoriya, Fagwa, Gudum Baja Nritya, Gedi Nritya, Karma Nritya and Daderi Nritya.

A team of 50 folk and classical artistes of Assam will perform popular dance forms such as Bihu, Rabha Folkanti Nritya, Tiwa Lalilang Nritya and Jhumur Nritya in the festival.

The festival will be inaugurated at Shilpgram of NEZCC at Panjabari at 5.30 pm tomorrow. The venues for the festival include Royal Global University on April 26, Shilpgram on April 27, and Sonapur on April 28.
