Body of married woman found
Correspondent
BONGAIGAON, April 21 - The body of a married woman was found yesterday in a paddy field at Dhalagaon area under Bongaigaon Police Station, which is about 6 kms from Bongaigaon town. Police recovered the red sari-clad body of the woman and sent it for post mortem after inquest conducted by a magistrate. As per family sources, the woman who is the mother of an 8-year-old son, had left home on Thurdsday night to enjoy Zubeen Garg’s cultural programme at Mulagaon, about 2 kms from Dhalagaon, by pillion-riding on the motorcycle of a person whom only she knew, but who was unfamiliar to her family members. As she did not return home, some local residents saw her body in a paddy field and suspected it to be a case of rape and subsequent murder. Bongaigaon Superintendent of Police Hridayjit Barman informed the media that only after getting the post mortem report can the actual cause of murder be ascertained. Meanwhile, two persons were detained for interrogation in this connection.
