AIZAWL, April 20 – Around 70 Bru families from Naisingpara relief camp in the neighbouring North Tripura district returned to Mizoram today, the second day of the third phase of the Bru repatriation, official sources said.
The source said over phone from Kanhmun, where the facilitation camp for the repatriated refugees was established, that while 127 families were expected to return, some families refused to come back making several excuses.
The repatriated families would be resettled in Sihthiang, Bunghmun and Tumpangpui villages, he said. – PTI
Nathu La border trade to start from May 2
Gangtok, April 20 – The Nathu-la border trade with Tibet Autonomous Region of China will start on May 2, official sources said here today.
The border trade through Nathu La would start on May 2 and will continue till November 30, the Commerce and Industries department sources said here.
Under the bilateral agreement between India and China, there are 29 exportable items. Sikkim traders are allowed to export them to TAR. But the Indian business community can import only 15 items. – PTI
