KMSS dharna at Jorhat over land rights
 JORHAT, April 8 Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti activists led by the president of the organization Akhil Gogoi today conducted a huge protest programme in front of the DC office, here after a public meeting held at Rajabari, Jorhat at 11 am.

 After the meeting the assembled activists of the organization and the supporters came in a procession to the DC office and staged a dharna on several issues.

Later the organization submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister through district administration with a 13-point charter of demands. Among the demands are investigation into the irregularities in PDS, provision of land possession certificates (patta) to the aboriginal people, solution of the inter-state border problems, prevention of erosion by the river Brahmaputra, an end to corruption going on unabated in Panchayat level, provision of pure drinking water to the people, solution of the problems of the small tea growers, increase in wage of the tea garden workers etc.
