SHILLONG, April 6 – The Special Infiltration Squad of East Khasi Hills District has detected 386 migrant labourers from different parts of the State capital here during a drive conducted last month.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police M Kharkrang said that the migrant labourers were detected during an infiltration and verification drive conducted in different construction sites in the State capital.
The antecedents of all the 386 migrant labourers were verified and recorded by the squad, the SP said. “As all the labourers are from different States of the country, intimation has been sent to the SP of the concerned district of the labourers for verifying of the address and documents,” Khrakrang added.
The drive will continue, the SP informed.
