Krishti, Anurag bag AITA crowns

 GUWAHATI, April 4 - Assam players Krishti Boro and Anurag Buragohain emerged winners in the All India Tennis Association’s (AITA) U-14 Talent Series Tournament, organised by the NF Railway Sports Association at their Tennis Academy courts, Maligaon.

On the final day of the three-day championship today, Krishti defeated Ishika Chakma 7-6, 6-3 for the girls’ title while Anurag downed Avinash Baruah 6-1, 6-2 in the boys’ singles final.

In the boys’ doubles Ashank Deo and Avinash Baruah prevailed over Pratik Hazarika and Raktav Dutta 4-2, 4-1 for the crown.

In the girls’ doubles title clash Krishti, pairing with Ishika beat Harshita Bora and Nistharani Borphukan 4-1, 4-3. Krishti won double crown in the meet winning both singles and doubles titles.

The U-16 championship of the series will be held at the same venue from April 9 to 11.
