Kiren Rijiju campaigns in Kokrajhar
 KOKRAJHAR, April 2 – BJP leader and the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Kiren Rijiju today assured the people to solve the long-standing demand of granting ST status to six communities of Assam soon.

Addressing an election meeting as the BJP star campaigner at the Ras Mela field here, the Union Minister also assured all-round development of this area while adding that special measures would be taken up for the development of the area if the mandate goes in BJP’s favour in the BTC poll. He expressed concern over the law-and-order situation in the area and appealed to the people to vote for the BJP so that security of life and property of the people living in the BTAD area is assured.

While stating that there was abundance of natural resources in the BTAD, he expressed concern over the lack of human resources development in the area. He said the BJP would take some positive steps in this regard and assured direct funding to the BTC from the Centre if BJP comes to power.

Rijiju added that BJP would seek the people’s mandate with a commitment to provide peace, good governance and development. He said that the dreams of development stand meaningless if there is no peace. He said that the presence of such a large number of people in the meeting has proved beyond doubt that the people were looking for a change in governance.

Manoj Kumar Brahma and other BJP candidates contesting from the five BTC constituencies in Kokrajhar Sadar Subdivision also addressed the gathering and appealed to the people to vote for the BJP for the all-round development of the region.

It may be mentioned here that Rijiju today also addressed an election meeting at Gossaigaon High School playground in Kokrajhar district for party candidates contesting in the six BTC constituencies under Gossaigaon Civil Subdivision.
