GUWAHATI, March 31 – Hailakandi set up title clash in the RG Baruah U-17 Inter District Cricket Tournament.
In the second semifinal played at the Nehru Stadium here today, Hailakandi posted a 19-run victory against Kaliabor.
Electing to bat first Hailakandi scored 128 all out in the stipulated 40 overs. Anuj Sutradhar was their top scorer with 41. Pranjal Goswami Kaliabor’s main wicket taker with 4 scalps.
But despite some encouraging beginning Kaliabor finally failed to reached the target as they fell 19 runs short. Pinak Chakravorty wrecked the Kaliabor innings with a rich 6-wicket haul.
The final is slated for Wednesday.
