Birth centenary of Bijoy Chandra Bhagawati Staff Correspondent DIBRUGARH, Nov 12 – Preparations are on to mark the birth centenary of Padmabhushan and former Union Minister Bijoy Chandra Bhagawati at Chowkidinghee ground in Dibrugarh on November 14 and 15.
The centenary celebration is being organised under the aegis of Assam Chah Karmachari Sangha in collaboration with the National Mazdoor Congress affiliated bodies of the State.
Bijoy Chandra Bhagawati was a successful trade union leader and eminent personality of the State. He was born on January 20, 1905 and died on May 8, 1997.
Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, Union Minister of DoNER Bijoy Krishna Handique and leaders from the national trade union like National Mazdoor Congress and Indian National Trade Union Congress are expected to attend the celebration.
