Dhekiajuli, Salmara by-polls today
STAFF Reporter
GUWAHATI, Nov 6 – Keen contests are on the cards at the assembly by-polls in Dhekiajuli and South Salmara constituencies tomorrow. Hectic politicking marked the run-up to the by-polls, with visits by political bigwigs, election rallies and mudslinging heating up the air in the two constituencies.

State Election Commission sources said that elaborate arrangements including adequate security had been completed to ensure smooth holding of the polls and prevent any possible outbreak of violence.

In Dhekiajuli, the main fight is expected between the AGP and the Congress, with the AUDF candidate being the dark horse. In South Salmara, the battle is likely to be confined between the AUDF and the Congress.
