State observes Nanak Jayanti Staff Reporter GUWAHATI, Nov 2 – Guru Nanak Jayanti was observed in Assam with the rest of the country in a solemn manner today. In gurudwaras devotees assembled to pay homage to the holy Guru Granth Sahib, and kirtan was also performed. The faithful greeted one another on the occasion, and in most of the gurudwas langar was organised. In Guwahati, a special Jatha from Punjab had arrived, and its members interacted with the Sikh community of the region.
