OBITUARY

J Hazarika

 JAMUGURIHAT, Oct 31 –Jonaram Hazarika, a veteran citizen, retired teacher, prominent social worker and writer, died on October 28 night at his own residence at Barhampur Jamugurihat. He was 88. He was a popular and amiable person. He was an efficient Hindi teacher of Jamuguri Girls High School (now Jamugrui Adarsha Uccha Madhyamik Vidyalaya). He leaves behind his wife, two sons and a daughter.

Mohinder Kaur
 GUWAHATI, Oct 31 – Bibi Mohinder Kaur (popularly known as Mihindri), a pious and popular lady of Chaparmukh Sing-gaon in Nagaon district, died on October 20 at the age of 70 at Dispur Polyclinic Hospital, Guwahati, due to kidney failure. She was connected with many social, cultural and religious institution including Assamese Sikh Association and 2nd Historical Gurdwara Mataji of Chaparmukh. Her death was widely mourned. She leaves behind her husband Sardar Tara Singh, a former State football player, two sons, eight daughters and grandchildren.
