B Bhattacharya CORRESPONDENT RANGIYA, March 13 Bharati Bhattacharya, a resident of Ischadagharia village under Rangiya subdivision, passed away recently due to old-age ailments. She was 65. Bhattacharya, a pious lady and a social worker of the locality was associated with different organisations. Wife of Panchanan Bhattacharya, she left behind her sons Dr Heramba Bhattacharya of MMCH and Assam Police Addl SP Hemanta Bhattacharya besides two dauhghters, a host of relatives and well-wishers.
Kshitindra Kar GUWAHATI, March 13 Kshitindra Nath Kar, a retired additional Superintendent of Police (Arunachal Pradesh) and a resident of Rehabari here, died on March 11 following old-age ailments. He was 75. Late Kar was a very upright and honest police officer, who was instrumental in setting up and expanding the Arunachal Pradesh police force. A recipient of Presidents Police Medal for meritorious and distinguished service in 1985, he was also associated with various social activities and was an active member of Rehabari Theodological Lodge. His death was widely mourned. He leaves behind his wife, only son, daughter-in-law, grand daughter and a host of relatives and admirers.
Pramoda Das GUWAHATI, March 13 Pramoda Das of village Ba-ghmara, Baska (Barpeta) district, died on March 8 at her own residence. She was 90. A popular lady of the locality, she leaves behind a son and six daughters, besides a host of relatives.
