Ganesh Sharma GUWAHATI, March 2 Ganesh Sharma, resident of Tokobari Satra here breathed his last evening at Nemcare Hospital. He was 75. Sharma was a noted social worker and was actively involved with various socio-cultural organisations of Guwahati. He had been associated with Madhya Guwahati Bihu Sanmilee ever since its inception and was its working president at the time of his death. He was a teacher of repute and had received the State Government award for distinguished service. He had retired as headmaster, LOG Hindi High School. His mortal remains were consigned to flames on the same day at the Bhootnath cremation ground. People from all walks of life attended the cremation.
SS Goenka GUWAHATI, March 2 Well-known industrialist, social worker and philanthropist Shyam Sunderji Goenka passed away at Kolkota this morning. He was suffering from heart and lung complications for the last few months. Goenka was actively involved with various social, charitable and religious organisations of Assam including Gauhati Gaushala and Assam Ved Vidyalaya. He leaves behind two sons, three daughters and a host of relatives. His last rites were performed at the Bhootnath crematorium.
H Bujarborua GUWAHATI, March 2 Hemolata Bujarborua, wife of late Jitendranath Bujarborua died today at her Latasil residence due to old-age ailments. She was 87. She leaves behind a son, four daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
