Pensioners’ meet
 GUWAHATI, June 22 – The Central Government, postal, Department of Telecom (DoT) and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) pensioners’ representatives have decided at meetings held at Guwahati to organise an all-Assam convention of Central Government pensioners and form a State-level body of Central Government pensioners’ associations to coordinate the activities of all Central Government pensioners’ associations, including postal, DoT and BSNL pensioners’ associations already formed in several districts of Assam, a press release said.

The convention will be held on July 11 at Guwahati for which a reception committee comprising 35 members headed by Bhabani Pada Bhattacharjee as president and Sankar Kumar Das as general secretary has been formed.

Almost all the veteran leaders of Central Government employees’ unions and associations, including Manabendra Saha, Sarbananda Das, Bhrigu Lahkar, RP Sharma, MR Das, SN Sarma, Diljan Ali, MK Purkayastha and Monoj Bhattacharjee along with thirty-five members are taking an active part to ensure the success of the convention.

All India leader of CG employees and CG pensioners’ association SK Vyas has consented to be present in the convention as chief speaker, the release added.
