P Sarmah CORRESPONDENT NORTH GUWAHATI, June 9 – Padmakanta Sarmah, hailing from New Colony of Mirza, died of old-age ailments on May 30 last. He was 85. An ex-deputy head cashier of Maligaon SBI, late Sarmah retired from service in 1989. He was closely associated with various social activities in his area and donated land and money for the establishment of the LP school near his residence. He is survived by his wife, five married daughters, sons-in-law, several grandchildren and other relatives.
