Bid to promote ‘Alcheringa’

 GUWAHATI, Jan 10 – Fourteen years after its launch, Guwahati IIT’s ‘Alcheringa’ has grown to be a major cultural draw in the city, and this year it is being promoted in a new way.

To kick off the publicity campaign in Guwahati a novel concept is being tried out called ‘Alcher on the Move’. As part of the initiative, team Alcheringa will tour parts of Guwahati as a build-up to the main event scheduled to be held from February 4 to 7.

Alcher on the Move will visit select spots offering people a chance to win some prizes and have a lot of fun. It will be staged on January 12 in Commerce College, on January 14 at The Hub, on January 17 at Nehru Park, on January 23 at the Royal Institute, on January 29 at GMC, among others.

Alcheringa has till now featured artistes of repute including KK, Remo Fernandes, Euphoria, Parikrama, Junkyard Groove, Scribe, Ganesh-Kumaresh, Pandit Vishwa Mohan Bhatt, Strings, Raghu Dixit Project, Shaan, and Sonu Niigaam. Those interested can visit www.alcheringa.org for more details.
