Lilawati Dutta GUWAHATI, Jan 7 – Lilawati Dutta, educationist and the first woman advocate of Gauhati High Court, passed away at her Solapara residence this morning. She was 87. Known for her commitment to social causes, Dutta pioneered the practice of woman advocates in Gauhati High Court. She also established the Mandakini English School in 1974. She was a Commissioner of Guide, and visited a number of countries like the UK, France, Switzerland, the USA, etc., in this connection. Her husband Radhacharan Dutta had predeceased her.
