Land allotted to Hyderabad Assam Assn CORRESPONDENT GUWAHATI, Jan 7 – The government of Andhra Pradesh has recently decided to allot a piece of land to Looitporia, the Hyderabad Assam Association. More than 1000 square yards of land near the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport has been earmarked for the purpose which would be given free to the organisation, a press release stated.
The decade-old Assam Association had requested to Andhra Pradesh government for allotment of a piece of land at a suitable location for construction of a cultural centre for the benefit of the people from the North-east who are presently located in various parts of Andhra Pradesh and also for the people from the area visiting Hyderabad for various purposes. Earlier, the Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi had personally requested his counterpart Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy for the allotment of land. The members of Looitporia have thanked Dr YS Rajasekhar Reddy and Tarun Gogoi, chief ministers of Andhra Pradesh and Assam respectively for their support to the cause of the Hyderabad Assam Association. They also thanked MGVK Bhanu, IAS for his help in fulfilling our long-cherished desire.
