AKRSU flays Assam, Bengal govts’ apathy Staff Reporter GUWAHATI, Jan 2 – The All Koch Rajbongshi Students’ Union (AKRSU) today alleged that the governments of Assam and West Bengal with their apathetic attitudes have been leading the fasting Koch-Rajbongshi activists towards death. These Koch-Rajbongshi activists are on fast for an indefinite period in support of their demand for carving out a separate Kamatapur state comprising 21 districts of Assam and West Bengal.
In a statement here, the AKRSU also resented the
reported statement of the Assam Chief Minister on the Kamatapur issue. The statement of the Assam Chief Minister has revealed his lack of sincerity to resolve the issue, said the AKRSU in its statement.
The supporters of Kamatapur state demand would continue their struggle till a separate Kamatapur state is granted to them, said the students’ body in its statement.
