Assam farmers to be exposed to northern agricultural technology STAFF correspondent DIBRUGARH, Dec 29 – At least 12 farmers from Dibrugarh and Sivasagar districts along with three agricultural officers including the SDO (Agricultural) of Charaideo sub-division have been selected for a farmer educational tour to Solan Agricultural University in Himachal Pradesh to learn about the new agricultural technology being used in northern states. The tour is being organised by 318 Field Regiment (Dah Division) under Operation Sadbhavana.
The farmers include six from Dibrugarh and another six from Charaideo sub-division of Sivasagar district. As per the training capsule of the agricultural university, the farmers will be given both indoor and outdoor trainings on various methods and technology applied for agricultural purposes, according to Captain Roshan Singh, the officer in charge for the tour.
The farmers who will be attending farming classes from January 14 to 17 at the university complex would also be taken for field exposures as well as on tour to some prominent places and tourists spots in Shimla, Chandigarh and Delhi.
The farmer educational tour will be flagged off at Borbeel Army Camp in Mahmora on January 11 and will conclude with a closing function after the farmers arrival on January 23 at the camp.
