Literary feats lauded City reporter GUWAHATI, Dec 28 – The Bodo Sahitya Sabha has extended its heartfelt wishes to noted Bodo littérateur Bidya Sagar Narzary and prominent Assamese author Rita Choudhury for winning Sahitya Akademi Awards for their novels Birgwsrini Thungri and Deo Langkhui.
In a letter written to Narzary, the president of Bodo Sahitya Sabha Kameswar Brahma has mentioned that various books, including historical accounts written by Narzary in Bpdo as well as in English, have immensely enriched the Bodo language and literature. He hoped that Nazary’s writings would keep raising the issues of Bodo people and contribute to the uplift of the community.
The two vice presidents and general secretary of the Sabha went to meet Dr Rita Choudhury and congratulated her achieving the award. “Her award winning book is indeed a marvellous account of oral history, customs and traditions of Tiwa community, which is still very backward. We hope that the national recognition to these writers of the State would encourage other upcoming writers,” mentioned a press statement.
