Milan Chandra Hazarika Correspondent DERGAON, April 29 – Milan Ch Hazarika, retired Head master of Namlogoa ME School, and a social worker died at his Kamargaon residence today. He was 80. Born at Kamargaon, he did his schooling at his locality and later he graduated from JB College Jorhat.He joined at Missamora Namlogoa ME School and retired from there as the headmaster. He was a brilliant teacher of English subject. After retirement, he was closely associated with several socio-cultural organisations like Dergaon Anchalik Namkirtan Samiti, Kamargaon Namghar Parichalana Samiti, and Amar Sarmah Girls' School management committee etc. His death was widely mourned.
Debajit Deka BARPETA, April 29 – Debajit Deka, son of Bhabanicharan Deka, an inhabitant of village Baniyakuchi in Barpeta district died at the GMCH College on April 21 last. He was 42. Deka was a social worker of repute and was actively associated with a number of socio-cultural organisations. He was one of the founder members of Bikalpa Natya Gosthi Panchagram. He leaves behind his wife and one son. His untimely death has been widely mourned and the cremation was well attended. - Correspondent
