Rocking breeze
Music is their religion — they preach music, they dream music. North East Breeze, an emerging music band from the Northeast is showcasing its rocking talent in the reality show ‘Idea Rocks India’, being aired on the popular TV channel Colors. With their innovative vision of blending pop music with the traditional music of our soil, this band has set the stage on fire with numerous foot-tapping numbers.

Every member of the band is a powerhouse of ingenuity. Rupam has a mesmerizing voice that blends Bollywood numbers with Sanskrit slokas and folk songs of Assam. Priyanku’s magical fingers create sensation once they are on the guitar. The ambience astounds with Anupam on the bass guitar and Anuwar on the keyboard. The wave of verve crafted by the drummer Biraj and percussionist Bidyut makes the band complete.

Shaped in the year 2009, North East Breeze endeavours to take the musical heritage of the Northeast to the national mainstream, while tagging it a global name. Amalgamation of traditional instruments of Assam with the modern music has been a daring stride initiated by the band.

Now being in the final five in the reality show Idea Rocks India, telecast every Sunday from 8 pm to 9 pm, the band is all set for the grand finale to be held on December 15 in Mumbai. And they are not leaving any stone unturned to gather public support by performing shows. Since the voting lines will be opened from December 7 till 15, North East Breeze has appealed one and all to help them emerge as the champs. To vote the band the audience will have to simply type IRI on their mobiles and then send it to 56882. Should we all chant Joi Ho!
