of the Northeast will be focused on the Gladrags Mega Model 2009 contest being held in Mumbai as a girl from Shillong will be vying for the coveted crown. She is Delphine Marbaniang, who was crowned Mega Miss North East 2009 recently.
“I am really looking forward to the challenge as the countdown begins. I will try to give my best shot in the finals on Saturday,” said the petite beauty from Meghalaya a day ahead of the grand finale. She was thankful towards the region and its people for all the support. She was also profuse in praise of Mega Entertainment for giving such opportunities to the talents of the region to contest at national level.
It may be mentioned here that Guwahati-based Mega Entertainment is the brain behind the prestigious Mega Miss North East annual beauty pageant as also various other beauty and fashion events that have immensely benefitted the aspiring youths of the region. Sweet success

Assam, nay the Northeast, proud with her exploits in the Pantaloons Femina Miss India East 2009 in Kolkata recently. Guwahati-based Rommie Chahal won the subtitle Miss Beautiful Hair in the beauty pageant that saw 12 girls compete for a berth in the Miss India finals.
A known face in the modelling circuit of the region, Rommie has done assignments for Geoshine, Zubeen’s Veda, etc, besides being the brand ambassador of Smile, a biscuit and wafer major. Apart from fashion designers of the Northeast, she has also worked with some reputed national fashion figures like Marc Robinson for various shows in the region and major cities of the country. Rommie, who has also appeared in a number of Assamese videos, is now more focused after her latest achievements and only hopes to make it big in the world of glitz. We wish her luck for more success!
