Many students appear confused while selecting courses that would lead them to success. A lot of time, energy and money is spent to prepare a concrete base for one’s career by helping them pursue the right courses. To provide solutions to such problems a specialized education and career counselling cell named Career CliniQ was launched in Guwahati recently, simultaneously with Silchar, Dimapur, Dibrugarh and Dhubri. It has plans to establish help centres in 12 locations in the next 12 months across the Northeast.
The unit is obviously led by a team of qualified and trained career coaches, called ‘Career Doctors’ who provide consultation service after assessing the intelligence, interest and personality of an individual to identify the careers in which the individual will succeed, and counsel them accordingly. All Career Doctors are members of the Indian Society for Training & Development, New Delhi, a national level professional and non-profit society.
Career CliniQ is already in the process of tying up with various schools, colleges and institutes of the region for counselling and guidance round the year. A career helpline — 9207011653 — has also been introduced for students and guardians alike for any career-related assistance. Career CliniQ, having tie-ups at national and international level with major educational institutes across various segments such as aviation, hospitality, management, engineering, media, pharma, fashion, IT, etc, also has a website — www.careercliniq.com — where one can have related information, says Navmita Bhattacharjee, a Career Doctor in the Guwahati centre the other day while launching their venture.
Let’s hope this new gesture in the education counselling sector benefits the students and parents in this part of the country in choosing the appropriate career options. Venture vow
The northeastern region has enormous
tourism potential which has not been adequately explored due to lack of sufficient infrastructure, including the hospitality sector. Hotel Silk Route, which opened recently at Police Bazar, Shillong, is a step in that direction by the group Silk Route Hotel & Resorts Pvt Ltd having its registered office at Panbazar, Guwahati.
Group director Arup Bhuyan said “to increase tourist flow into the region we have to develop infrastructure and once tourism sector gets a boost, a lot of job opportunities will also be created, thereby developing the standard of living of the people.” The group also has plans to open hotels and resorts in northeastern cities to cater to both domestic and international tourists.
This 28-room hotel that has provisions like a multi-cuisine restaurant, conference hall, multi-gym, sauna and jacuzzi, besides ample covered and secured car parking space, among others is surely an welcome addition to the increasing hospitality avenues in the region. Flair fare
The other day Guwahati-based
multi-discipline grooming institute Morph organized its annual function at Shilpgram, Panjabari. Celebrated with much fanfare, the glitzy evening saw a number of innovative rounds that also included a fashion parade where both established as well as up and coming models set the ramp on fire donning designer clothes. But the highlight of the evening was a tribute to Michael Jackson, who died some days back, with a horde of dancers performing to the immortal beats of the ‘King of Pop’.
