Here’s one new Assamese magazine for
generation next. Aptly titled Eai Prajanma, meaning ‘this generation’, the magazine, basically meant for youths, has been published by FlyHi Publication, the sister wing of Guwahati-based public relations firm FlyHi. What’s unique about this magazine that has Dr Akashitora as the chief editor, is its distinct content as well as its language which the youngsters will find easy to relate with amidst today’s cocktail of global, national and local lingua trends. In fact, writer Mainee Mahanta, who released the first issue of the magazine the other day, emphasized the need to enrich our language by embracing the other languages and dialects which the English do for which it is the most widely spoken language of the world today. The magazine covers a wide range of topics, including the current ones, in a lucid way that makes reading interesting.
