Ghost tales
In keeping with the times, a street play titled Ejak Bhootar Kolahol was enacted by the students of Aroma, a school of chemistry based at Dispur, Guwahati, in different places of the city the other day. The play was staged at Panbazar (in front of Cotton College), Jalukbari (in front of Gauhati University), Beltola Tiniali, Narangi Tiniali and Ganeshguri Chariali that day amidst enthusiastic viewers.
Written and directed by Dhrubajyoti Duwarah, the drama is a discussion among different ghosts of terrorist, doctor, journalist, politician, swamiji, dancer, poet, Devdas, police and student residing together in the country of ghosts. They discuss their problems and analyze the causes of their transformation into ghosts.
The ghost of the teacher gives them advice to reform their thoughts, actions and attitudes and asks the human race not to produce more ghosts by killing innocent people. ‘Live and let live’ is the main message that chemistry teacher Dhrubajyoti Duwarah wants to convey through this drama for peace to prevail in the society.
