Quiz is a happening entertainment item in Guwahati in recent days. After the Brain Jam, The Colosseum Quiz Fest and the Cop Quest, there are lots of quiz competitions conducted by different quiz masters in Guwahati, and also in different places in Assam. Along with general quiz competitions, Business Quiz also seems to be very much an in thing. The Assam Quiz Association was also formed recently, which is another welcome development in the quizzing scenario in Assam. To commemorate the first anniversary of the organisation on X-Mas Day, 2009, it is organising Quizville (School Quiz) and Just-Quiz-it (Open Quiz), which are part of the quiz fest called Aquizzation’09 at the Vivekananda Kendra. The efforts of the organisation are laudable. Among the other quiz news, the Howajan Quiz Forum, Howajan, Lakhimpur is organising an All Assam State Level Inter Institutional (School/College/University) Quiz Competition on Saturday, December 26, 2009, stated a Press Release of the Howajan Quiz Forum. The quiz is open for all educational institutions. The first, second and third prize winners of the quiz competition will get Rs.5000/-, Rs.4000/- and Rs.2000/- respectively, along with the winning trophies. There is a Best Audience Prize, who will get a one year subscription to the Prantik magazine. The Quiz Master of the event is Neelotpal Deka. The venue is Howajan Higher Secondary School.
