Introducing Joysurya
 It is heartening to note that the first film of the year was launched recently. Titled O Mor Monetora, it is produced and directed by Hemanta Kalita. The film also has a host of newcomers in the cast. The hero’s role is played by upcoming actor Joysurya. He has drawn the attention of viewers with his performances in TV serials like Sur Sangam, Hepahar Ghar, Nabou, Jonak, Aaita, Mandir, etc. He has also a number of telefilms and video films to his credit. He played a major role in Blue Fading Sky, directed by Bhaskar Das. It was exhibited at the New York short film festival. He has portrayed an NRI software engineer in O Mor Menetora, the shooting of which is progressing after the muhurat on November 16 at Jyoti Chitraban, Guwahati.
 
Moinajan (2009)
 Bihu-based video film Moinajan (2009), directed by Jodumoni Dutta with story, screenplay and dialogue by Munin Barua, hit the stands recently. Jatin Bora and Aimee Barua are the lead actors in the film, supported by Guna Mahanta, Arun Hazarika, Rashmi Barua, Minakshi Dutta, Pallavi Kalita, Jadumoni Dutta and others.

The music is scored by Manas Robin, with the songs beautifully choreographed by Uday Shankar Dutta, Sailendra Ramsiary and Shantamoni Sarma. The singers are Zubeen Garg, Bhitali Das, Simanta Shekhar, Nirmali Das, Subasana Dutta and Chayanika Bhuyan. Bhagawat Pritam provides the background music. Cinematographer Suman Duwarah’s capturing of the scenic beauty of Dergaon, Dhansiri, Mahuramukh and other locations is a plus point of the film, produced under the banner of Maina Cooperative Society of Dergaon.
 
Bideshat Apun Manuh
 After covering different locationsBideshat Apun Manuh shooting in Le Puy En Valley in France. Bobbeeta Sharma, Nadine Delpech and artistes from France and Majuli. in the United States of America, the team of Bideshat Apun Manuh left for shooting in Le Puy En Valley in France. It was an invitation to an inter-folk festival organised in different villages and towns around the valley. The invitation was made by the festival president Gerard Chalendard, and facilitated by Nadine Delpech, a French writer who has written a book on the Uttar Kamalabari Satra of Majuli and has travelled many times to Majuli.

The festival had participants from Sicily (Italy), Chavdar (Bulgaria), Equador (South America), Burkina Faso (Africa), Caucase (Russia), Martinique Island, Mumbai, among others. For the Bideshat Apun Manuh team, it was a unique experience to cover the festival, because the artistes from the Uttar Kamalabari Satra of Majuli were also invited to perform in the festival. The forthcoming episodes of Bideshat Apun Manuh will feature Le Puy En Valley, its various attractions, Inter-Folk Festival events and Majuli artistes’ performances. Telecast at 7:30 pm every Sunday on Doordarshan Kendra, Guwahati and DD North East, Bideshat Apun Manuh is produced by Chinmoy Sharma and Bobbeeta Sharma, and directed and anchored by Bobbeeta Sharma.
 
Bombay Beats
 Here is a unique musical endeavour from Rajbir, who blends rich flavours in as many as five languages – Assamese, Bengali, Hindi, Punjabi and English. Billed Bombay Beats, it is perhaps the first of its kind in the modern Indian music industry. Rajbir has done full justice to the songs with his rich baritone. The musical arrangement of the songs are noteworthy, suitably synchronising with tunes and meaningful lyrics by Sumit Acharya and Rajbir. Abhijit Barman deserves credit for the music arrangement while music direction by Sudip-Sumit bear testimony to the talent of the duo. The album was released by celebrated Assamese film-maker Manju Bora at a function in Guwahati on December 2.
 
Ringa Ringa Mon
 P Uttam Kumar’s video film Ringa Ringa Mon recently hit the stands. The story, script and direction are by P Uttam Kumar and produced under the banner of Shivam Production. This is the fifth production under the same title. Mousam Bora has scored the music, with playback singing by Zubeen Garg, Kane Kashyap, Kishore Nilim, Raju Barua, Rashmirekha and Pranati Bora. The cast includes Bhaskar Ranjan, Bhranti, Dina Baishya, Amarjyoti and P Uttam Kumar.
